Pre-Installation Preparation:

1. Site Inspection & Measurement: Verify the rough opening is square, plumb, level, and meets the manufacturer's specified dimensions. Check the floor level at the track location; a perfectly level subfloor is critical.

2. Unpack & Check: Carefully unpack all components (frame profiles, sliding door panels, track, rollers, handles, locks, screws, gaskets). Verify all parts are present and undamaged.

3. Read Manufacturer's Instructions: This guide is generic. Always prioritize the specific manual provided with your door system.

Step-by-Step Installation:

Step 1: Install the Bottom Track

· Clean the floor threshold area thoroughly.

· Position the bottom track in the opening. Using a long spirit level or laser level, ensure it is perfectly level along its entire length. Shim if necessary on uneven floors.

· Mark the screw hole positions. Drill pilot holes into the floor/substrate. Secure the track firmly using the provided screws. Do not overtighten.

Step 2: Assemble & Install the Side & Head Frames

· If the frame is in separate pieces, assemble the side jambs (vertical members) and head (horizontal top member) according to the manual, typically using corner keys or screws.

· Insert the assembled frame into the opening. Place it onto/into the bottom track.

· Use the spirit level to ensure the side jambs are perfectly plumb. Check the head frame is level.

· Secure the frame to the surrounding wall structure. Drill through the pre-drilled holes in the frame into the wall, insert wall plugs, and screw tightly. Use shims behind the frame to maintain plumb/level and ensure rigidity before final fastening.

Step 3: Install the Top Track/Rail

· Secure the top track to the head of the frame as per design. Double-check alignment with the bottom track, ensuring they are perfectly parallel.

Step 4: Prepare & Hang the Door Panels

· Attach the roller hardware (hangers) to the top of the door panels as instructed. Usually, this involves screwing adjustable roller brackets into pre-drilled positions.

· For doors with bottom guides, attach the guide pins or rollers to the bottom of the panel.

· Hanging: Tilt the first door panel so its top rollers can engage into the top track. Carefully lower it so the bottom guide engages the bottom track. Repeat for the second panel. The panel that opens last (typically the inner one) should be installed first.

Step 5: Adjustment & Alignment

· Use the adjustable wrenches or screwdrivers to fine-tune the roller mechanisms.

· Locate the vertical adjustment screws on the hangers. Turning them will raise or lower the door. Adjust until both doors hang plumb, are even at the meeting stile (where they meet), and clear the bottom track smoothly without dragging.

· Locate the horizontal adjustment screws to move the doors in or out, ensuring a consistent flush appearance and proper seal against the frame gaskets.

Step 6: Install Locks, Handles & Seals

· Install the door handle and lock mechanism into the pre-cut recesses on the door panels.

· Attach the strike plate to the corresponding door/frame.

· Test the lock and handle for smooth operation.

· Install any remaining brush or rubber seals around the frame and between the doors.

Step 7: Final Sealing & Clean-Up

· Apply a bead of high-quality, neutral-cure silicone sealant around the exterior perimeter where the frame meets the wall. Smooth the bead with a tool or finger for a clean finish.

· Clean the glass and aluminum frames with appropriate, non-abrasive cleaners.

· Perform a final operation test: slide the doors multiple times. They should move effortlessly, without bumping or excessive noise.
