Reflections on The 2025 Military Parade

  On September 3, 2025, a military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held at Tiananmen Square. The ceremony was deeply moving, filled with emotion, and brought tears to my eyes.

At the parade, the marching columns marched in unison and with a valiant air, showcasing the new military and arms structure of the People's Liberation Army following its reform and reshaping. The equipment columns showcased various types of domestically produced, active combat equipment, including new-generation conventional weapons and equipment, as well as new combat capabilities such as unmanned intelligent warfare, underwater warfare, cyber-electronic attack and defense, and hypersonic warfare. These equipment showcased China's military's systemic combat capabilities, new-domain and new-quality combat capabilities, and strategic deterrence, demonstrating the continuous improvement of China's independent innovation capabilities in weaponry. The air echelon, with its neat formations and superb flying skills, showcased the systematization of China's air combat forces and their rapidly improving advanced combat capabilities.

This parade also carries profound historical and cultural significance. The parade design focuses on the theme of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Units with a strong heritage of the War of Resistance were selected, along with honorary flags from the PLA's wartime history. The joint military band also performed classic pieces from the war. These arrangements allowed people to revisit the history of the War of Resistance and appreciate its spirit, inspiring us to remember history, honor the martyrs, and carry forward the great spirit of the War of Resistance.

In addition, the participation of the militia and troops that have performed peacekeeping missions showcased the comprehensiveness and diversity of China's national defense capabilities. The militia is an important component of China's armed forces, and their participation embodies the "three-in-one" composition of the armed forces. The peacekeeping force parade demonstrated the Chinese military's responsibility and commitment to maintaining world peace.

The 2025 military parade is not only a display of military strength but also a spiritual revelation. It strengthens our resolve to strive for the realization of the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and allows the world to see a strong, confident, and peaceful China. As a teacher, I am fully aware that I have the responsibility to inherit and promote the great spirit of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, to enable students to understand and remember history, to cultivate their patriotism and national responsibility, and to strive to cultivate comprehensively developed socialist builders and successors!
