On December 6th, Huawei’s CFO Meng Wanzhou was arrested by the Canadian government. Huawei confirmed that Meng Wanzhou was temporarily detained by the Canadian authorities on behalf of the US government when he was transferred to Canada. In response, a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Canada said that the Canadian police had arrested a Chinese citizen who did not violate any US and Canadian laws at the request of the US. The Chinese side has made solemn representations to the United States and Canada, demanding that they immediately correct the wrong practices and restore the personal freedom of Ms. Meng.
