Amazon has sold more than 100 million devices equipped with Alexa

  On January 5th, Dave Limp, senior vice president of Amazon's equipment division, revealed in an interview that more than 100 million devices pre-installed with its smart assistant Alexa have been sold so far. This figure shows that Amazon is rapidly infiltrating its voice assistants into a variety of different hardware devices and bringing them to market. However, the company did not further distinguish between how many of these products are Echo devices manufactured by Amazon, and how many are designed by third-party vendors.

  At the hardware launch in September 2018, Amazon demonstrated the vision of integrating Alexa into any device with a board. At the meeting, the company announced more than a dozen new devices, including clocks, microwave ovens, and redesigns of existing products such as Echo.
