Huawei responded to Meng’s arrest in the night: the transfer was detained. I don’t know if there was any misconduct.

On December 6th, Huawei’s CFO Meng Wanzhou was arrested by the Canadian government. Huawei confirmed that Meng Wanzhou was temporarily detained by the Canadian authorities on behalf of the US government when he was transferred to Canada. The United States is seeking extradition of Ms. Meng Wanzhou. Allegations not specified in the Eastern District of New York.

According to Huawei, there is very little information about Huawei's specific allegations. Huawei does not know that Meng Wanzhou has any misconduct. The company believes that the legal systems of Canada and the United States will eventually give a fair conclusion. Huawei complies with all applicable laws and regulations in the countries in which it operates, including export control and sanctions laws and regulations applicable to the United Nations, the United States, and the European Union.

In response, a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Canada said that the Canadian police had arrested a Chinese citizen who did not violate any US and Canadian laws at the request of the US. The Chinese side expressed firm opposition and strong protest against this serious violation of human rights. The Chinese side has made solemn representations to the United States and Canada, demanding that they immediately correct the wrong practices and restore the personal freedom of Ms. Meng. We will pay close attention to developments and take every action to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens.

Meng Wanzhou is the daughter of Ren Zhengfei, the founder of Huawei, and also serves as the vice chairman of Huawei's board of directors.
