Apple CEO Tim cook said in an interview on Thursday that the company is not suspected of being a monopolist.
Shares of apple, Google, Facebook, amazon and other big tech companies fell sharply on Monday after news this week that the us department of justice was working with regulators such as the federal trade commission to launch antitrust investigations.
Responding to the news, apple chief executive Tim cook said in an interview with CBS on Tuesday that the company controls a modest but modest share of the market, and he disagreed with calls by some U.S. politicians to break up the company.
Apple had 15.8 per cent of the global smartphone market in the fourth quarter, according to Gartner, the market consultancy.
