On January 6th, Apple released a document on Saturday saying that Apple had used a new manufacturing method called "co-plastic" for the first time in history. Specifically, in the 2018 iPad Pro, the plastic antenna strip on the side of the iPad is bonded to the metal by injecting plastic into the milling channel of the housing. Apple said that the new square design and antenna of the cellular version of the iPad Pro may cause the body to bend slightly, making it easier to see with the naked eye in some angles. Apple reiterated the specified 400 micron flatness tolerance, and during normal use, the 400 micron flatness change should be undetectable. Apple once again stressed that its tolerance on the 2018 model is more stringent than the previous iPad.
